SIM: To give our readers some understanding of your perspective and background, can you discuss briefly your interest in and study of various religious and spiritual traditions? How did you first become interested in this topic and how have you pursued knowledge relating to it?

Pinkham: I was drawn into the study of the world’s religious and spiritual traditions when I was in my late teens. I was quite unhappy with my life at the time and was hoping I could find some relief, and possibly even some joy, through this avenue. I began my search with yoga after hearing that its practices are designed to generate a continual inner joy. This led to my traveling to India and living most of my twenties in the ashrams with the hope of finding that inner peace and joy. At that time I followed the path of Siddha Yoga – a kind of yoga that begins with the activation of the alchemical Kundalini power. Once this power is awakened by a Gnostic Master (a “Siddha”) it purifies a seeker on all levels while activating his or her inner centers of Gnosis. Eventually it culminates in eternal joy and the Gnostic awareness of “I AM GOD.”

As we move into August the Sun continues its transit through Leo it began in July. Mercury, Venus and Jupiter are also in Leo, so all activities related to Leo - games, sports, parties, investments, love affairs, creative pursuits - will continue to draw your interest. Love affairs can still flourish, but you might find it hard for your love relationship to evolve to the next level because Venus will be in retrograde motion all month. The active, sporting and sexual nature of Leo will shine on, however, especially after the 9th ,when the planet of activity and passion, Mars, enters the sign of the lion. The day before, on the 8th, Mercury moves into Virgo, so consider directing your intellectual prowess into writing and studying the rest of the month. Are there books you need to read for the next semester of school? If Mercury in Virgo does not motivate you, then wait a couple of days for the planet Jupiter to enter the sign on the 11th, and then continue there for an entire year. Jupiter will also greatly increase your intellectual powers besides making all intellectual pursuits and studies much more inspiring and uplifting. After the 23rd, the Sun will join

During the month of June the Sun will first transit through the Zodiacal sign of Gemini, and then Cancer. While it's in Gemini the focus will be on the objective intellect, short journeys, siblings and communication of ideas, and when it moves to Cancer the focus will switch to the subjective mind, the home, family and the communication of feelings.

One of my favorite lunation’s, the Sagittarius Full Moon, will occur on the June 2nd. This lunation has been called the Christ Full Moon because of its potential for spiritual revelations and philosophical insights. This is an excellent time to engage in any kind of spiritual work, and it is especially good for receiving guidance from the inner and/or outer guru.

During most of the month of February the Sun will transit through the sign of Aquarius while the ruler of Aquarius, Uranus continues its march through the sign Aries and in square aspect to Pluto. 

This means that collectively we will think more globally and feel more altruistic. We will join together in groups whose activities will greatly benefit all those involved. We may also participate in movements that assist large cross sections of humanity and/or the planet as a whole. These movements will typically be grass roots and relatively new, and they will follow uniquely progressive agendas and goals. Their battle cries will tend to be in direct opposition to the existing power structures, which will seek to impede their progress at every turn. For many of us we are likely to feel as though we have stepped back in time and it is the 1960s all over again.

February will also have its share of fun. Jupiter will be in Leo, the sign of fun and creativity, while positively accepting Uranus. This will make the month an excellent time to come together with others for great fun, for renewing friendships, and for creating a better planet for all of us.
