Modern Spiritual Living

Joe Boyer brings highly useful insights for modern spiritual living. As an open minded explorer, and a well-rounded spiritualists, Boyer shares what living in todays world as a seeker is all about.

Pop Culture -All the World's a Stage

Boyer spiritual All the World’s a Stage: Media, Macrobes, and the Matrix

“All media are extensions of some human faculty - psychic or physical. The wheel is an extension of the foot. The book is an extension of the eye. Clothing, an extension of the skin. Electric circuitry, an extension of the central nervous system. Media, by altering the environment, evoke in its unique ratios of sense perceptions. The extension of any one sense alters the way we think and act - the way we perceive the world. When these ratios change, men change.”

-Marshall McLuhan, The Medium is The Massage

Mass media has become an integral part of the human experience. In the west, we are inundated with countless videos, ads, television programs, radio shows, and websites to inspire our spending and mold our opinions. Media communicates the human story using the art of music and imagery. But what is it communicating? Who is in control of the content? Does it reflect us, or do we reflect it? Is there a hidden agenda behind the imagery?

The field of marketing arose from mass media. Marketers, in the very least, play on our subconscious desires and feelings of inadequacy. If you buy the right deodorant, you’ll get the girls. If you buy the right wrinkle cream, your husband won’t leave you.

At its very worst, marketers disregard our well being entirely. After all, it wasn’t that long ago that cigarette ads were telling people that smoking certain brands was doctor-recommended, and that bacon and eggs were part of a healthy breakfast. What kind of modern myths will be exposed in the future?

Perhaps marketing and consumer culture is the fruit of our inner lack of spiritual fulfillment. People use “retail therapy” as an attempt to fill the void. What if the bottom line of this whole scam was to steal our personal power and sell it back to us in the form of unnecessary products?

A Veiled Form of Mysticism

boyer spiritual 1Mystical experiences are severely lacking in western culture. Marketers and media moguls intentionally sell us the missing aspect of ourselves in the form of symbols: pyramids, All-Seeing-Eyes, mountains, astrology, astronomy, subverted sexuality, and spiritual light. Car companies mimic the stars in their iconography, using astrological motifs and images of heavenly bodies on the horizon. Serpentine shapes are used not only for occult symbolism, but also to manipulate the primitive human mind into recognizing the symbol of danger. This subconsciously grabs the viewer’s attention, only to sell them toxic sodas.

Is the pervasiveness of such symbolism intentional? Is it part of an occult agenda? Is it a form of mass sigil magick? Or is it merely a reflection of our deeper selves? Could it just be an attempt to sell toothpaste? Perhaps several of these perspectives are valid. Regardless, humanity can’t help but resonate with and react to these symbols.

There is another hypothesis – that these forms of symbolism are somehow interacting with astral and ethereal dimensions, and the beings that inhabit them. Is there any evidence that people in positions of power believe in extra-dimensional entities?

Boyer spiritual 7A Tale of Occult Warfare

In his presentations and interviews, Douglas Dietrich presents his theory that the US military elite believes in and uses the power of dark occult forces. He suggests that after the US dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, a terrorist act that killed upwards of 180,000 people, Japanese Emperor Shōwa summoned the occult power of the Kamikaze – the Divine Wind – in retaliation. US military brass took this seriously, as it was believed to be the same occult power that saved Japan from the invading Mongol fleets in the 13th century. US scientists were told to observe the coming events and gauge the results.

The Kamikaze manifested as Typhoon Louise on October 9,1945. It took an unexpected turn north and intensified over Okinawa, where the US was using Nakagusuku Bay as a port. Ninety mile per hour winds and thirty-foot waves caused massive damage on the bay and US forces. A US Navy Historical Center webpage describes the damage:

“3 US Navy Destroyers were grounded beyond salvage, and over 200 various other US military boats, including 6 tank and truck amphibious landing craft, a number of special purpose boats, patrol boats, and amphibious landing craft were grounded or severely damaged, and beyond. Eighty percent of the buildings in the bay were completely wiped out while all 60 airplanes at the local airports were damaged.”

This led to Operation Magic Carpet, which brought US personnel back home. US military brass were convinced that the storm possessed supernatural power, given its mysterious redirection and massive increase in intensity. The Japanese claimed that it was an answer to their prayers from the native gods of the land. The US was so impressed with the invocation, that they sought to co-opt the same power for themselves. However, it was Satan that they summoned.

Boyer satanism copyIs there any evidence that the US military has been involved in Satanism? It is no secret that a former high-ranking military colonel is a vocal follower and practitioner of Satanism. Lt. Colonel Dr. Michael A. Aquino was the father of PSYOPs and founder of the Temple of Set. The Temple of Set differentiates itself from the Church of Satan in that they believe in an actual supernatural deity of darkness. They commune with and worship the Egyptian adversary – Set. Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan, on the other hand, is more of a celebration of self-indulgence and a type of secular humanism. They have little belief in supernatural entities and often scoff at metaphysical ideas. Aquino sought out the darker Left Hand Path and thus distanced himself from LaVey.

It was at the Presidio military base in San Francisco that Aquino met with Douglas Dietrich. Dietrich was working as a military librarian at the time. Aquino directed Dietrich to acquire rare magickal grimoires from museums around the world, all under the guise of national security.

Aquino held satanic rituals at the base. Dietrich describes many haunting instances of occult phenomena taking place. Military brass carelessly invoked satanic forces without properly sealing off the rituals. Dietrich was changed forever after encountering these paranormal forces of evil. Somehow unsurprisingly, the base ended up being the center of a massive child sex abuse scandal after many children who attended the daycare came home with STDs.

Dietrich describes the base as the birthplace of a satanic storm that soon swept the nation. The entities that were summoned during these occult rituals craved continual sustenance via human fear, abuse, and violence. It is interesting to consider the rise of satanic symbolism in music, the emergence of west coast hippie cults and psychedelic movements, the so-called “satanic panic” of the 1980s, the dark underbelly of Hollywood, the rampant child sex abuse in elite circles, the MK Ultra mind control programs, the countless US invasions and CIA dirty wars, and the many victims’ stories of satanic ritual abuse in this context. Does a satanic deity and archetype of this behavior actually exist?

Boyer ghosts The Gods: Archons, Macrobes, Angels, and Demons

The idea of invisible entities toiling in human affairs has persisted throughout history. Mainstream science scoffs at the idea and attributes it to primitive thinking and modern sensationalism. But could a multidimensional model of the universe explain ghosts, poltergeists, shadow people, djinn, oversouls, angels, and demons in this way? Could there be some credibility to the ancient idea of gods and archons?

Archon is a Greek word that means “ruler” or “lord.” John Lash has done most of the pioneering work on this subject. He describes archons as “a species of inorganic beings that emerged in the solar system prior to the formation of the earth.” The idea is rooted in ancient Gnostic teachings. The Apocryphon, of the Nag Hammadi Library, describes an archon:

"Now the archon who is weak has three names. The first name is Yaltabaoth, the second is Saklas, and the third is Samael. And he is impious in his arrogance which is in him. For he said, 'I am God and there is no other God beside me,' for he is ignorant of his strength, the place from which he had come."

Michael Tsarion calls these pan-dimensional entities macrobes. In the same way that microbes are visible with microscopes, macrobes are visible with human intuition and spiritual vision. Clairvoyants, seers, and users of certain psychedelic plants experience these realities.

He says that macrobes desire blood and ritual sacrifice in return for the knowledge that they have imparted to secret societies. The occult power of blood and the adrenaline released in violent and traumatic acts feed these macrobes. They exist just beyond our level of perception in the astral and etheric realms. Tsarion claims that the ritualistic layout of modern cities, along with the never-ending violent crime and endless global war, is part of this occult process.

Could there be a connection to the emotional output given off in experiencing modern media?

Loosh: Soul Food of the Archons

“Someone, Somewhere (or both, in millions, or uncountable) requires, likes, needs, values, collects, drinks, eats or uses as a drug (sic) a substance ident Loosh… This is a rare substance in Somewhere, and those who possess Loosh find it vital for whatever it is used for.”

“The Collectors have evolved an entire technology with complementary tools for the harvesting of Loosh from the Type 4M units. The most common have been named love, friendship, family, greed, hate, pain, guilt, disease, pride, ambition, ownership, possession, sacrifice-and on a larger scale, nations, provincialism, wars, famine, religion, machines, freedom, industry, trade, to list a few. Loosh production is higher than ever before.”

- Robert Monroe, Far Journeys

Robert Monroe received this vision while out-of-body. He saw transdimensional entities consuming the positive and negative emotions created by biological life, which he called loosh. Is Earth a loosh farm? It sounds crazy enough to be true.

The Matrix is often cited in conspiracy circles as a great symbol of the human situation. We live in a fake world created by the Powers-That-Be, whose only interest is mass control. But there is another analogy in the movie that is often overlooked: that human energy is being harvested. Morpheus describes it to Neo:

“The human body generates more bio-electricity than a 120-volt battery and over 25,000 BTU's of body heat. Combined with a form of fusion, the machines had found all the energy they would ever need. There are fields - endless fields - where human beings are no longer born, we are grown. For the longest time I wouldn't believe it, and then I saw the fields with my own eyes. Watched them liquefy the dead so they could be fed intravenously to the living.”

This sounds a lot like what Monroe is saying about the harvesting of loosh energy.

Stewart Swerdlow tells a similar story in some of his lectures. He explains how our energies, in the form of thoughts, prayers, emotions, meditations, and visualizations, feed higher dimensional entities. Just as we feed on lower life forms – animals and plants – for our physical survival, higher dimensional entities consume our spiritual and emotional energy for their own survival. It is like a spiritual food chain. Many aspects of the human story make more sense when considering this possibility. Could the perpetual violence, fear, and trauma of our reality be food for the archons? David Icke says this in Children of the Matrix:

“The vibrational frequency of negative emotion, like fear and terror, resonates to the lower fourth-dimensional range or density and so those emotions generate energy for the fourth-dimensional demonic entities. Energy = creative power, positive or negative. They are feeding off our emotions and they manipulate events in the world and our lives to trigger the desired emotional responses.”

On the other side of the spectrum, what if the positive energy created by happiness, joy, pleasure, thrills, adventure, etc., also create loosh? Are they feeding the same archons, or more positive and angelic ones? Maybe media of the future and virtual reality could help offset the need for physical bloodshed.

Could there be a connection between the loosh hypothesis and the prevalence of occult symbolism in the media? Perhaps the power of symbolism goes much deeper than we think.

When considering the transformational quality of movies, music, and sporting events, how could these relate to loosh? Could the collective emotional output of these events be harvested?

Alchemedia

Media is a form of spiritual alchemy. Going to the theatre is a chance to forget the ego and reality. The person leaving the theatre is not the same person that entered. Are these experiences helping or hurting our spiritual evolution? Who decides the content of these magical spells? Are we receiving spiritual nutrition or addictive stimulation?

Modern music and movies often fail to live up to Universal principles of aesthetic beauty. More often, they offer only fleeting stimulation. Media, it seems, is the new opiate of the masses. Are addicts easier to control and less dangerous?

Celebrity Demigods

Imagine future Earth explorers investigating the remains of our culture. Would the abundance of celebrity worship in media lead them to believe that these were our gods? Celebrities certainly wield incredible power in molding and influencing society. Citizens mimic them consciously and unconsciously. They are the trendsetters. How attractive this attribute must be to those wishing to control. Celebrities and rock stars are the new mythology. In City Magick, Christopher Penczak says:

“Archetypes have arisen in new forms, retelling ancient stories from our unconscious.”

He goes on to compare the mythos surrounding Elvis, Jim Morrison, rock stars and celebrities to the ancient gods of human history. Are celebrities replacing the divine mythos of past cultures?

The New Media

The Internet has emerged as a force of good in all of this. We are the new celebrities, and are able to share our opinions freely. I believe that this is a great thing, and that it will ultimately shape our future for the better. The same tools of spiritual media alchemy can and are used for spiritual uplift.

Binary Digital Reality

“Life is like a video game. Since I have access to the technological source of the plans, I dictate the rules of the game.”

-George Bush Sr, according to MK-Ultra victim Cathy O’Brien in her book Access Denied: For Reason of National Security; pg. 167

Is reality real? This question veers off into endless facets of philosophical thought. It is interesting to consider the binary language that governs all digital environments and apply it to our own world. Media often portrays reality in terms of polarities – black and white. The Hegelian dialectic says that it’s the only way that humans can process information. Consider this when considering the polar opposite choices that we are often presented: Good / Evil, Right / Wrong, Conservative / Liberal, Republican / Democrat, Coca-Cola / Pepsi, Xbox / Playstation, Man / God, and so on. Perhaps our reality matrix is programmed in a similar way.

It will be interesting to see how we transform our society and our inner selves when we take the power of media into our own hands.

Some of this I'm familiar with, and some of it not so much. But I am sure that I've never read it so well stated. Thank you SIM! I think the symbology in advertising is above all fascinating.
