If you have not read my column from last month, please do so before you attempt any methods written here. Please keep in mind what I wrote about in last month’s column was not an OBE method, simply a standard meditation technique that is necessary to bring your physical body to the point of falling asleep.  In this column, I am covering the next step: techniques that will keep your mind awake as your body falls asleep.  In this way, you are out of body, you are free.

There are many, many out of body methods to choose from, and I will cover a large number of them as this column continues. In this installment, I will cover two of my favorites.  Each month following I will cover another one or two.

Most, if not all of the many techniques I know of and have utilized, while seemingly different, are all doing the same basic thing: they teach you to let your body fall asleep while your physical consciousness stays awake.

jack july 1When your physical body is awake, it has your consciousness, your spirit, locked inside of it. When your body falls asleep, it automatically releases your spirit to become free and leave your physical body.  Each night, as we sleep, our spirit, the real self, wanders free from the body.  We don’t know this because our physical consciousness has gone to sleep.  In learning to have experiences out of the body, we teach our consciousness to stay awake after the body has fallen asleep.  In this way our consciousness unifies with our spirit, remembers all our spirit does and is in control of it as well.

I know and practice a number of OBE methods. Some of the out of body techniques I use are gathered from many of the masters, individuals such as Carrington, Sylvan, Monroe, Taylor, Peterson, Bulhman; many are of my own design.  These techniques are simple, to the point and are proven through decades of success, not only in the experiences of those mentioned, but by so many others as well. Please keep in mind: I am as you, only a normal person, one from the basics of life.  I know only what is simple to me.  I strive to pass only these methods of simplicity on to you.

As I scan my mind through the methods I practice, I realize the large number of OBE techniques that I know.  There are about twenty in all.  I will cover most, if not all of these in my columns.

As I proceed with this first method, I want to remind you that your body needs to be fully relaxed, just as I wrote about in my last column. If you haven’t achieved this state of relaxation,  your chances of success are minimal and you will most likely be wasting your time. With that said, let us proceed.

The method I have used the most and with the best results is what I call the “Affirmative method.” Besides myself having the best results with this method, my students seem to have the best results with this technique also. This method is simple, straightforward and very easy to master.

After you have achieved the mental and physical state described in my last column and you start to feel that sleepy feeling coming upon you, hold your consciousness as long as possible. Fight going to sleep as much as you can. Now while you do this imagine your spirit becoming lighter and lighter, so light in fact that it seems to want to float upward, out of your physical body. Imagine it becoming hard to keep inside your body. As you start to feel this movement, start to say either mentally or through slightly open lips, “Now I am floating up, now I am out of body.”

jack july 3Take your time and continue to imagine your spirit getting lighter than air. Feel it starting to rise upward, out of your physical body. Keep your mind clear of everything else and as you continue to say your affirmations, over and over, mentally continue to imagine your spirit rising up, out of your physical body. Really get into it. Keep your body fully relaxed while you do this and concentrate only and solely on imagining your spirit becoming so light it is lifting up, out of your body. Again, really get into it.

As you do this, continue to fight going to sleep. Stay awake as long as you possibly can. Don’t give in to sleep. The object to this is to be saying your affirmations, still imagining your spirit floating up, out of your body, as you finally drift off to sleep.

After you finally drift off to sleep, one of three things will happen: you will black out for a second (This is your physical senses transferring to your astral body) then awake floating above or next to your physical body; then again you might awake and be in the vibrational state (vibes, I will cover the vibes in more detail later but if you are in the Jack july 2vibes you will need to stay calm and continue to imagine your spirit lifting up, out of your body and continue repeating your affirmation mentally. You, hopefully, should soon rise up out of your body. As soon as you do the vibes will stop); lastly, if no success getting out you will hopefully have enjoyed a good night’s sleep.

Don’t expect to get out of your body on your first few attempts. Most of my students usually have some sort of OBE within a week, but you need to allow at least two to three weeks of daily attempts before you move on to another method.

Also, in regards to the vibes: you will feel strong shaking feelings combined with loud, roaring sounds. They are quite startling and sometimes scary. These happen anytime your spirit is moving out of your body but is not all the way out. Try to stay calm and continue your affirmations. If the vibes frighten you too much, your physical body will pull your spirit back into itself and the vibes will stop, but so will your out of body attempt. In future columns I will cover the vibes in much more detail.

thMy second favorite out of body technique is the “Target Method”. Start this method, just as you did the affirmative method, when you have acquired the correct mental and physical state.  Next think of a subject (target) you know well, very, very well.  I usually suggest a person rather than an article or a place.  Let us say you are thinking of your significant other. Picture their face; see it as clear as possible. Really get into this. Notice any sort of facial details like a freckle or the shape of their mouth. See the shape and color of each eye, the length of their eyelashes. Notice the hair, being worn in that one favorite hairstyle. See how the hair surrounds that face. See the hair’s color and notice just how it smells like their shampoo or conditioner.

Does they wear perfume or cologne, or have another distinct fragrance you associate with them? If so, smell it, notice it.  Really imagine that scent wafting through your senses.

Next imagine them talking to you. Pick up, in detail, that voice. Do they speak softly?  What is the tone they are using?  Imagine it, really hear it in your mind, and make it crystal clear. Is their voice high or low?

While you are doing all this, imagine touching their face softly with your fingers. Feel how soft the skin is. Feel it move slightly as you caress it. Again, really get into it, all of this.

Like the Affirmative method, hold off as much as possible falling asleep.  Keep imagining them, in all that detail: what they look like, the sound of their voice, their skin and scent, and every other of the details that make that person unique and that you have noticed so many times already.  Hold all this in your mind as clear as you can, until you finally drift off.

Keep in mind you can also imagine anything that you know very well, as long as it is something that can bring in sight, sound, feeling and smell. If you do desire to have a target that is not human you can try your pet dog or cat: the feel of its fur, its smell, etc.  Even a place you know well can be a target.

th 1If you drive a lot each day in your car, many hours a week, you might try that. Smell the car’s interior, hear its engine, feel the steering wheel in your hands.  Imagine the feel of the steering wheel as your car goes down a windy road. Hear the engine change RPM’s as you shift gears. Hear your favorite song on the radio.

th 3A place?  Sure.  If you spend lots of time in your backyard, imagine the smell of the flowers, the fresh cut grass.  Hear the sound of the breeze as it goes by your ears.  Feel how cool it is, as well. Hear the little bee flying to the next flower and see the colorful butterfly opening and closing its wings as it flies by you. Smell steaks on the barbecue, and the smell of the barbecue sauce. Hear that sizzling from the open grill. Imagine getting up and flipping them over. You look around and see the many colors of flowers, the blueness of the pool water. You hear the pool pump working. You pick up a glass off the table, a glass filled with your favorite drink. How cold it is, how sweet it tastes.

Get completely absorbed in all this. Really get into it. You are really there.  Know you are: feel it, taste it, hear it, see it, as you slowly drift off to sleep. But remember to hold your falling asleep till the very last moment, as long as you can. This is the key.

I liked to imagine my mother and would then find myself out. I would be at her house, or her work. I would be floating next to her. Sometimes I would think of my dead father and I would be with him on the other side

The target method is a wonderful, easy to do method. I suggest it very highly. Good luck to you all and please write me with any comments or questions. Remember don’t give up! Something as life changing as OBE should be given your very best effort.

A MOTHER FINALLY GETS TO SAY GOODBYE TO HER SON

My best friend had a wonderful girlfriend who lost her son to a drunk driver. They were more than mother and son, they were best friends, the very best.

Her son came home one night and as he got out of his car a drunk driver hit him. He died right away. She never got to say good-bye. Her pain was so immense she couldn’t seem to get over it.

alaska lodges lake lodge fullWhen I saw her in her home, it was made into a museum for him. Even his room, 2 years after his death was left exactly the same as he left it when he left the morning of his death. The bed covers were still flung downward to the foot of the bed. She was so devastated she could not work. She seemed on the brink of insanity.

One night as we all had dinner together I mentioned out of body. She immediately smiled and almost demanded I teach her. So I did.

I have to admit it took her longer than most I’ve taught but one night the phone rang.

It was her, loud and excited, really excited. She had finally gotten out and her son was waiting for her. She stood there looking at him. They were both in front of a beautiful, small cabin in the woods. He loved to hunt and fish. He had always told his mother that he someday wanted to move to the Alaskan woods and live there in a log cabin. Looks like he made it.

She threw herself at him, they hugged and kissed for a long time, then he took her in his cabin. They talked and cried. After about 45 minutes he told her that he had to go and that she needed to go back. They hugged again and she finally got to say her good bye.

My best friend said to me later, she seemed fine from then on.

Why OBE? This is just one reason.

CINDY’S FIRST OBE

Back in the day I was talking with a friend of mine about OBE. He believed it could be real but he thought it was too bizarre for him. As we spoke I noticed his wife Cindy in the kitchen listening intently to every word I was saying. After Jimmy left the room she rushed up to Connie and I.

“I want to do it. I want you to teach me!”

We met with her the following day. I told her how to do the affirmative method. Most of those whom I taught had good results with this method. That is the one you keep saying, “Now, I’m out of body. Now, I am floating upward” as you drift off.

Cindy was going to try it that very night.

The next morning Connie and I drove over to ask her how she did.

As we opened the car door, Cindy came running up to us, a weird expression on her face.

“I don’t think I want to do OBE again.”

“What happened?”

“Well I did what you told me and in a little while I started floating up like you said I would. I floated up through the bed covers, then through the bedroom ceiling, then through the roof itself. I floated up past the trees tops and in a minute I was thousands of feet above the house. It was scary. I thought I might never come down again so I yelled that I wanted to float back down.”

“Well did you?” I asked.

“Yes I did. I started to slowly float straight down, just as I went up. I floated down through the roof, then the ceiling and into my body but I didn’t stop, I kept on going down, though my body, through the floor and then into the dirt. I was terrified. I didn’t know what to do. In a moment I was deeper in the dirt, like I was buried alive. I was going deeper and deeper. I was frightened to death. I didn’t know what to do. I finally screamed and then I was back in my body. I was shaking and there was a loud noise pounding in my head.”

Wanting to smile but I didn’t, I started to explain to her what happened when she cut me off.

“You two are crazy! This could be really dangerous. I could have been buried alive. This out of body stuff is not for me!”

She calmed down and never again tried OBE. I felt sad that she was going to miss so much. Maybe some people are not cut out for OBE. Thank God I’m not one of those.

Remember, fear is only for a moment, it will pass, but OBE is for a lifetime.

THE BLIND CAN SEE WHEN OUT OF BODY

Last year I read that numerous blind people learned how to get out of body (OBE) and were able to see as we all do when we get out. Even though the physical body is blind the spiritual body isn’t. This was something I never thought about. When I read this I immediately got excited. I thought how wonderful it would be to see your family, friends, home, landscape, etc. for the first time. Instantly I wanted to get involved.

I have instructed many to get out and it seemed to me that teaching a blind person would be no different. So I got in touch with two schools for the blind, one in San Francisco and one in Sacramento, California. I was willing to drive the 6 hour round trip, once a week to lead a class in out of body for free if they were interested.

I spoke to the head person at the school in San Francisco. He thought I was a nut case. The whole topic was too bizarre. I told him that even though he may not believe, maybe his students should have the right to make up their own decisions about OBE. He replied no. His reason was that he felt his responsibility to his students was to protect them from false hope and things of that nature.

The other school was different. The head person was nice and seemed to believe it all could be possible. He, himself was born blind and had never seen his wife, kids or anything else.

He proceeded to tell me that many, if not most blind from birth people are somewhat reluctant or even scared to see for the first time and those who have had surgery to regain their sight have had major problems adjusting to sight and the things around them. He told me also that even Stevie Wonder, who has been blind since early childhood, through surgery, now could have his sight restored. He refused.

I then asked him, since he had been blind from birth, would he be interested in a few private sessions with me. He replied no as well.

He said he would spread my offer to the students, but I never heard from anyone.

In conclusion to this month’s column I will once again state the very importance of obtaining the gift of out of body and give you uplift as well.

To me, life is hard, it’s tough and usually it’s long. We all search for different things. We try to obtain what is important to us but many times, no matter how important, is not obtainable.

I have been blessed with the magnificent gift of calmness in life, of the removing of the fear of death, of the worry about the death of those close to me. As I have found my answers and in abundance, I have done this through out of body.

Jack july closeerMy life has been made complete, it now makes sense. My questions have all been answered and answered in abundance. I have found love and kindness when there was none. I have had my tears wiped by my Father. I have seen first hand the new found joys of those new to out of body. I have learned to smile and understand what I did not understand. I have found hope in living my later years and found immense joy in returning to my real home, back on the other side, from where I came. All through out of body.

I have found a smile that was never there and a peace in all things. I love now where I did not before and the hand of Father touches me always. I now have patience as never before.

As I kneel down on bended knee, my tears, both of joy and thanks go to He who has opened up out of body to me. There are no words that seem to express my thanks, my feelings of sincerity. Through out of body I have found how truly small I am and how big my joys are. As I am nothing, I am something and I am more than I have ever thought. As I will close my eyes for the last time I shall smile as well, for what I will go to I have seen before and know of it’s joys and beauty. You see, I have been there.
