Fantastic OBE!
Laid in heavy trance for a while. Commanded my body to lift for a few minutes. Good vibrations came in all over. Laid and listened to a TV channel and a radio station at the same time. I could choose which was more dominant by tuning into one or the other. Real commercials, real voices, no nonsense ads. A diet plan for women add came in clearly.
I then slipped down my body and went out. Commanded to go to JSO. I flew very high in the outer atmosphere and then back down to over the Rockies. I realized I passed the planes of NE Colorado and looped around. The sun was not up but there was a little light. I came to JSO’s house and close to his room and told him to remember "sh;gu;mesi, sh:gu:mesi.” Then began to fly back to Florida and re entered but was still out. The room flipped around and changed size a few Times. I tried to get up to take notes but couldn’t get my phone out of my pocket. I then commanded after a few times of falsely waking, "I am 100% back in my body” and did a few checks for all limbs and re entered, then woke 3 minutes before my alarm.
Fantastic flight and contact with focus. Great outing this morning!

7-17-13 OBE amazing flight!
From a lucid dream where I'm showing (MA) how to raise energy through the Taoist techniques, I first draw it out for her in the dirt and then we both do it together raising our astral energíes. From lotus position in a chair, my body becomes numb and I go into paralysis. I immediately take amazing flight as I hear those around my physical body saying, "he's left his body and he's gone somewhere else.” I fly low through amazing cities and skies. There are green spots of grass in urban areas. I fly low around buildings and all over. I look at my hands out front and rejoice at being out after so many months. I decide to go to the Akron Colorado house because (TB) and I spoke of going there in our dreams before sleeping last night. I come in the back door and go through every room in the house. All the details are in perfect place and I observe with accuracy. I realize I've been out for a while and know my body will be calling be back shortly. I then make a decisión to stand on the ground as I'm now in front of the old road Q house. I do a few more energy raising circuits to keep my astral body charged. I feel the energy currents move through me well. I then fall into a lucid dream and nearly loose this recall. Great outing.!

Sometime in the early 2000s - The early experiences

Though I have yet to dig up the few journal scribblings which exist on my past astral experiences, I will try my best to detail them from memory.

First, I will share a little background. I came into all of this much by accident when I was around 15-16 years old, which is about 15 years ago. I had heard of astral travel before, but had never attempted it with any success. My mother had passed on stories of our interesting family history in occult studies, which included OBE experiences. My great aunt was very much interested in Theosophy, Edgar Cayce and other popular New Age topics in the 60s. She was known to hold gatherings at her home in south Chicagoland, where people from all over the midwest would come to practice astral travel. My uncle was a gifted astral traveler, and there are family stories about him traveling out of body to mischievously wake people up in the middle of the night by visiting them in their bedrooms.

My first personal experience was spontaneous, and happened much the typical way. A lucid awareness came to me while I lay in bed. Suddenly, I felt awake in a dream and was in the middle of my bedroom. The feeling of freedom was something special, and would surely change the way I viewed reality from that point on. I made the willful decision to go outside, through my bedroom wall.

The view was spectacular. I could see my house and the details of the landscape outside as I floated about. I made the conscious decision to look up. The theatre of the night sky was breathtaking. As I gazed upon it, I floated closer and closer to it. There were innumerable amounts of stars, and they were more brilliant than ever before. I floated closer and closer, the scene was something like in Star Wars when they go into hyperdrive. The starry points of light became stretched as I went up into them. With a blur, I was back in my body, which was humming and buzzing like never before. Fully awake, I marveled at what had just happened.

Another experience that sticks out - I had just started a new job at the local park district. Naturally, I wanted everything to go well. Another spontaneous astral experience helped me make this happen. As I was sleeping, I suddenly found myself in the lucid state of awareness. I willfully traveled to the main lobby of my new place of employment. The whole time I felt another presence there assisting me, like a guardian angel. This presence instructed me, without words, on how to bless this new place of employment and my time there. I began to spin. As I spun, golden, glistening points of light came off of me and covered the area. I knew that this would help empower me and bless the building and our new chapter together.

From there, the same astral experience morphed into something else. The guiding presence began to instruct me on the chakras. Beginning at the root chakra, it showed me every chakra's corresponding color. The most amazing part of this was that when it "showed" me the color, it didn't just show me the color. I became the color. One by one, from the root chakra and up to the crown. I knew each color like never before. I knew its actual vibratory state of being. I was each color, and I understood the spiritual and esoteric significance of each one.

About 95% of the subsequent astral experiences I've had since those early days have all been spontaneous. Also, the vast majority of them seem to be accompanied by a guiding presence, although I feel that the guardian being has changed from time to time. The being always has a sense of wanting to urgently show me something special. It is always saying, "Hey! Look at this! Isn't this marvelous?!"

I choose to call these experiences "astral experiences" because that is the most accurate term for it in my mind. This is because I don't always find myself actually leaving my physical body and within the physical location of where I'm at. Sometimes I will just be suddenly somewhere else, like I am becoming aware of other vibratory realities. It is very much like tuning into another frequency range. It is always accompanied by the intense buzzing, which I suppose is the awareness of my etheric body. Unfortunately, I have declined to partake in a lot of possible experiences just because I was not ready for the intensity of it all. There have been many times where it beckoned me and began, but I willfully brought myself back into my body out of fear of the unknown. Also, I think the astral realms can be sketchy neighborhoods at times, and I will elaborate on those experiences in the future.

Joe, these experiences are really well described! Specifically, the becoming of each color within the chakra frequencies was just amazing. I also wanted to thank you for giving some background into your abilities. We have spoken over the years vía email, but I never knew your roots in spiritual practices. If I may, I wanted to ask, and this may be too far back to remember, but the day following your Chakra color attunement, do you remember feeling or experiencing anything differently that day, or were there any special events that stuck in your memory that day?

Also, if you have any tips or recommendations to share here regarding separations and safe travels, be sure to share. This is all really helpful stuff for our new members who are looking to make the out of body experience a reality.

You've inspired me over the years on many occasions, and here once more with your sharing in the forums. Thank you my brother!

An entirely new experience to me occurred recently on Saturday the 22nd that is well worth sharing here. And Ill ask first, has anyone else has experienced this?

I vacationed for a long weekend in the Andes Mountains outside of Santiago and slept in a cabin with many other people. I did my usual early morning meditation and astral projection preparations. I then laid back in bed propped up in my usual 37 degree position and placed the blanket over my head, as I knew in a few hours the others around me would be waking up, and I needed to remain somewhat concealed for my projections.

And this is where the new/strange experience began. As I heard the others talking, I realized it was from within their own dream-states. I laid in heavy waking trance listening to them speak. I then began to lift out my limbs from my physical body to separate, and the others began then to physically speak as they woke up together. This was completely new to me because I was half in, and half out of my body while completely lucid to what was happening physically, and still able to separate my astral body. I worked with focus to finally separate my torso and I rose up to the ceiling. My vision was very blurry, but I could still hear the others talking physically in the room. Finally my wife began drawing attention to the position of my physical body propped up in bed and I chose to re-enter and join the day with them as to not seem too strange covered in my blankets while they were awake.

I hope i was able to explain this well enough lol. I chose not to quote my actual journal notes, as they were even more scattered in description.

That day we drive into the Heart of the Andes Mountains and did some amazing hiking. Ill share the photos here simply because of the immense beauty they hold.

I can't remember any specific events that stick out, just the general sense of well being and enchantment that always follows a glimpse into the astral!

There always seems to be that "Aha!" moment when the lucidity first kicks in. At this point, I know that I can either surrender to it or fight to wake myself up physically. Many times, it happens so quickly that it takes me by surprise and I am not ready to surrender. But I have found one exercise in particular that helps me immensely.

The first step is surrendering, which is a lot easier with the technique I am about to share. I learned this from researcher, author, and metaphysician Stewart Swerdlow. He taught it as a general protection technique in an online video. It goes like this - imagine that you are surrounded by and filled with violet light, like the color of amethyst. Extending one of two feet beyond yourself, is an egg shape. You and the egg shape are filled with violet light, and on the outside of the egg shape is a mirror facing away from you. This serves to symbolically deflect any noxious vibes that you may experience in the astral. I have found that immediately upon implementing this technique, the vibrations calm down, and I am more able to control the situation and have fun with it. There seems to be a calming, protecting and filtering quality in the violet light. You can watch Stewart explain it here.

Wow, these are some truly awesome things you guys write about. This helps me understand some things about my own experiences. I have been out of body a few times and really thought i had died the first time. I remember i wasent scarred at all for what its worth. It was a really happy feeling, and im not at all the kind of person who dislikes my life. It was just a feeling of total freedom from all responsibilities and cares. I knew my body was somewhere back on earth either resting or dead, but it really didint matter at the time. I dont mean to sound grim , but it was so calming to be out and away from all of this. Does that make sense to anyone else??
